As some of you know I am converting every thing over to the french cleat. With a bit of thought you can make it hang anything you wish. If you don’t like where it is just move it to another cleat. That will happen a lot in my shop till I get all the floor done and the walls up etc.
Using the off cuts from making the cleat you can make parts for the hangers. The off cuts are alternating to make the slot for the chisel. They are long enough to take the whole chisel and protect the blade as well as your hand as they are no longer free hanging.
Add a small bar top, bottom and lower quarter. Glue and brad nail to the cleat
Perfect. A lot tidier an a couple of spare slots for new chisels.
