Database Design

  • FileMaker Pro 19.*  (Windows) FileMaker 19.5 is my main database application I use. However I do use a variety of earlier versions of the application for a variety of reasons.
  • FileMaker Pro 18 Advance (Windows) This is the last version of FileMaker that allows me to export and make a stand alone runtime application of the data base. It allows me to make a usable version of the database or solution/application for those that don’t have FileMaker and allows them to run it like any other program. DATA Solutions applications is one of these that I can sell.
  • FileMaker Pro 11 Advance (Windows) This is a much earlier version to allows me to work on a database solution for older computers. (And yes there are clients that want this…)
  • FileMaker 5.5 Pro And Developers Kit (Windows) The earliest version of FileMaker I have and I use on very old computers, and some clients don’t want to upgrade. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.All that being said the main two I do use are version 18 and version 19.5.
  • MS Access Having a play around in access to see if I like it as much as FileMaker (while we have access to MS Office 365 – See Above)
  • LibreBase I have one database in this that I am trying to get the client to switch it over to FilMaker.
