Those kiwi’s the read this blog know the leaky home syndrome and drama, all the court cases and all the payouts … well my leaky home has to do with a bar I built under a deck… something of an after thought really, basically it means I can not claim on it… darn… 😥 but I am slowly water proofing it all and am slowly getting there with it. But alas I can only see the leaks if I get it when it is a long heavy rain… and they are not that often.
The rain we had today might have been enough to start the leak, but… now with the new fix I am not 100% sure…
It could be that;
- It did leak but dried out by time I got home from work, or…
- It didn’t rain heavy enough or long enough to leak, or…
- It could be that, I have fixed the leak issue which would be nice.
I do believe I will eventually get it all and i am confident of that, it’s just that it will take time, as I can only really fix it in the rain season.
Once I get this one leak done ad sorted I do have a few other smaller issues with water… one coming down the path behind the water tank, but that will be an easy fix. And the other from under the house from a small drain we put in when we did the concrete floor in the basement. I have a plan for this as welll and that invlves some ddigging and drain coil which have been putting off now for about 2 years… I don’t wanna dig the drain… 😥 😯 but I guess someone has to.
Then I believe it will be pretty water tight, but water has a habbit of finding a way around diversions. However I do believe when it is raining you can be under the deck in the bar and not get a drip on you. (basically you just about have this now) so again am confident I can get it. Luckily there is no time plan to HAVE to be done by.
